Christmas Program

Don't miss our Christmas Eve Service at 5pm on December 24th.  Our very own Graceland Kids will be performing two songs they have been working on for several weeks.  It is sure to be a wonderful evening.  Invite your family and friends and don't forget your camera!  The service is also an opportunity to cherish the message of Christmas together as a church.  We hope to see you there!

Cards for Service Members

This past Sunday, December 7th, we joined Graceland kids together to make cards for men and women who serve in our armed forces.  It was great to see kids put their own style and  personality on the cards.  

This was an simple way to give at Christmas time and to bless those who bless our lives and continue to fight for our country's freedom.  Our kids worked so hard to make the best card they could.  Take a look at the slideshow to find pictures of this day!

A special thanks to Shayna Shnereger who gave us the idea and made sure we had what we needed to add the perfect touches to the cards.

Fundraiser at Baja Fresh

Join us at the Baja Fresh in Valencia, on December 7th!  We'll be raising money for our kids who are going to camp.  Please come out any time from 11am-10pm.  Eat a great meal and give to a good cause:  Our Graceland Kids!  15% of all orders placed with our event flyer will go directly to us!  Don't forget to pick up a flyer at church, or stop by the office anytime this week to get more.  Invite friends, family, co-workers, neighbors, anyone!  Thank you in advance for your support!  See you there.

SAVE THE DATE!!

Winter camp is coming up!  Mark your calendar for January 9-11th.  If you are in grades 3-6 this year, then winter camp is for you.  We will be going to Camp Cedar Crest up in the San Bernardino mountains.  We'll have more information for you soon!

Big Thanks!!

A big thanks to all the kids who helped be a part of our First ever CMS (Children's Ministry Sunday).  I had a number of adults comment on how impressed they were with all the polite ushers and greeters.  People were rocking out with our child worship singers too, that was awesome!  

Let's not forget about the Commissioning part of the service!  All Graceland kids were prayed for and commissioned to go out and be a light in their schools!  I just can't say enough how great and inspiring our young people are.  This is the greatest group of kids and I am so blessed to Pastor them! PTL!

Come check out our annual Harvest Fest featuring FREE fun and games for the whole family!  Invite a friend cause it's gonna be an awesome night.  Our address is Oak Hills School, 730 Old Rock Road, Valencia, CA.  

This event is an alternative to the tradition Halloween fare that can often be offensive and dark.  We see this night as a celebration of God's goodness and we hope that all who come feel the difference and want to come back for more, more of God that is!

Kids and parents, young and old, small and great, all are welcome so step right up, join in the fun Under The Big Top!  

Children's Ministry Sunday, September 7th @ 10am

It's our 1st ever, Children's Ministry Sunday!  Don't miss our own Graceland Kids in action, Sunday, September 7th, as greeters, ushers and worship singers!  

We want to expose our kids to every aspect of church life.  What better way than to bring them in the adult service.  The kids rarely venture into our adult services because we provide a kid based, kid centered ministry for them all year long.  This church time will serve as a wonderful teaching and growth opportunity for them.  We look forward to this event!

This special Sunday is timed just as school is starting.  We plan to Commission our kids and send them out to serve God in their schools.  We want to pray over them and encourage them to live for God on their campus.  Please join us!  Contact Pastor Rachel at 661-257-8432 if you have any questions, or want to know how to get your child involved.

Eight Months In...

It has now been over eight months since I became children's pastor here at Living Grace Christian Fellowship.  It does not seem possible that it has been that long!  

One thing I've wanted to do since I started, was develop a better way to communicate and share ideas and thoughts with our parents and kids.  The best way I know how, thanks to technology, is by a web-based means.  Our church website was the first choice but after looking into it, we determined that it would not service our needs very well.  I also thought about creating a My Space page but several parents I've spoken with were not comfortable with the idea.  A blog seemed the natural next and best choice.  A blog is like a digital journal.  It works similar to a website in several of it's features.  It is easy to use and easy to update (for the tech challenged like me).  You can interact with it, too, by posting your own responses and input.  Kids too, can ask questions, post their thoughts, and even offer advise!

This is my first time attempting to do my own blog but I look forward to doing it!  I hope you all visit this blog often to check in with Children's Ministry.  I will write about current events, upcoming events at our church, parenting tips, resources I recommend, and whatever else comes to mind.  I look forward to posting pictures of our Graceland Kids too!

For now, this is the first official post!
